It all started from the desire to achieve close to cinema sound at home…
It’s the evening of 20th May, 2022. Raju owns a small grocery shop in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. But today is a special day. Raju is exceptionally excited. He’s excited because the blockbuster movie RRR is debuting on OTT platform and he’s excited to watch it with his family after he closes the shop.
Raju’s son calls him, “Papa, can you come early tonight? We can’t wait to watch the movie!”
Raju shuts the shop early and reaches home where his family is waiting for him with smiles and excitement in their eyes.
They take their seats in their drawing room, their 43″ LED TV is already ON and the movie begins.
The excitement of family wanes down as the TV isn’t doing justice to the sound effects. Vocals sound thin and unnatural. The songs also are not creating that vibe in their home! It is then Raju realizes that the real fun of movies and webseries lie in the audio.
Therefore, next day his search for a good 5.1 begins. He finds about Obage and calls up Obage customer care and enquires about Obage 5.1. Obage didn’t make 5.1 back then, so they inform Raju that Obage is not making any 5.1, currently.
